Description
As part of the CRAB (Computerized Reading-related Assessment Battery), the Rhyme Recognition task assesses rime-level phonological awareness by requiring children to determine whether pairs of spoken words share a common rime unit. This digital-based task indexes phonological sensitivity at a coarse grain size, for which associations with early reading acquisition have been reported in the developmental literature, particularly in relation to the emergence of phonological decoding skills. The task is available in three parallel forms (A, B, C) of matched difficulty, designed to reduce test-retest and familiarization confounds in longitudinal assessments.
