LoL Gamer Cognitive Study

Brain and Learning LabPI: Daphné Bavelier

A cognitive battery run at the Brain and Learning Lab (University of Geneva) to study cognitive and behavioural correlates of achievement in a complex multi-player video game (Large et al., 2019). The original battery is a standalone PHP/JS multi-session suite of mini-games; the tasks listed here are standalone jsPsych reimplementations of individual mini-games, each runnable on its own rather than as part of the multi-session protocol.

Tasks in this study

  • Arrow Direction Task

    Validated
    HTML·English·online verified 85d ago

Measure choice reaction time and visuomotor response speed by asking participants to respond to the direction of a briefly presented arrow.

  • Gradual Continuous Performance Test (Cities & Mountains)

    In review
    HTML·English·online verified 65d ago

Sustained attention and response inhibition: a gradCPT in which grayscale photos gradually fade from one to the next — press space for cities, withhold for mountains.

  • Visual Statistical Learning (Shape Patterns)

    In review
    HTML·English·online verified 85d ago

Watch a stream of shapes containing hidden triplets, then pick the more familiar pattern in test trials.

  • Grid (High Score) — Reward-based Spatial Exploration

    In review
    HTML·English·online verified 85d ago

Click squares on a 5×10 grid to reveal rewards and maximise your score across three rounds.
